International meeting Leeds 2013

24 april 2013

We need you !

The countdown is on !

For several months, we have been preparing the major event of the year 2013, the next Faith and Light international meeting, planned from July 20 to 27 in the morning in Leeds (England). It will be around the theme "Called to bear fruit" and will bring together more than 200 leaders and delegates (people with intellectual disabilities, parents, friends, chaplains) from all around the world. Today Faith and Light is based in 1508 communities in 80 countries.

Even if they are likely to do everything possible to raise the necessary funds (as Judex down below), two thirds of the participants come from countries facing very challenging economic difficulties ! That's why, we need you to help the delegates coming from Benin, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, or Poland, Egypt, Syria, Ukraine and Croatia...

In this document "Do you want to help us?" you will find all the explanations about the importance of the international meeting and its budget.
Letter to our friends: "
We need you"

Judex and Marie-France Violette (here with their son Lucas) are the coordinators of the province "Rainbow" which brings together the communities of Madagascar, Mauritius and Rodrigues, Reunion and Seychelles. Thanks to their efforts, the province will send four delegates to the international meeting. While we congratulate them, here is the response we received from Judex:

There is no secret, you just need to explain the reason and the purpose of the event. In return, we must review what it has brought and what it will bring to Faith and Light. Everything is done in a transparent way. Nevertheless it is an everyday exchange about the identification of each member to Faith and Light. Why am I here, why do I stay, and what is my role. Our joy is even greater when the countries with less financial resources try their best to find the necessary funds, not only to organize a local event but also making efforts to participate in the international solidarity.
Warm regards,
Judex and Marie-France
